The Oakthorpe & Lamplighter bar are located in the heart of Windermere Village, The Lake District. This charming Victorian building is part of Lakeland’s heritage. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation with a total of 9 bedrooms the majority of which have en-suite facilities as well as our four poster room set in a relaxed warm and friendly atmosphere.

The conveniently located Lamplighter bar offers delicious traditional pub food that can be washed down with a selection of real ales affording great value for money.

The property is just off the A591 that runs through the Lake District and a two minute walk from Windermere train station. Lake Windermere is just 5 minutes away by car or a 15 minute stroll to walk off dinner in the bar. The Oakthorpe is a perfect location from which to explore this idyllic area with the convenience of local amenities right on your door step. We have a large car park and are only two minutes from both coach and rail stations, close to excursion buses and one of the finest viewpoints in Lakeland, Orrest Head is only a short stroll away.
