The Lamplighter Bar and Restaurant opened twelve years ago and have become one of the most popular eating and meeting places for both locals and holidaymakers from around the world.

Tony Tasker is the Chef Patron while Sue overseas the friendly efficient staff. We have built an enviable reputation for excellent home cooked food at realistic prices. Fish is a speciality delivered daily from Fleetwood.

The Lamplighter Bar has a cheerful pub atmosphere making The Oakthorpe a popular place to stay or relax after a hard days walking, or sightseeing. The food on offer represents true value for money coupled with high quality produce and has seen the Lamplighter Bar recommended in many international guide books, including Dutch, French, Belgium and Japanese .

We cater for parties and meetings all year round

We also have located at the front of the building our private lounge area which also acts as a function room accommodating up to 40 guests for private parties and get togethers. This area can be hired for exclusive use with Sue on hand to discuss all of the details for your event.
